Thank you for taking an interest in our Adopt a Memorial program!

Our program was created by F.L.A.G while thinking about unique ways to show support for our military and our country. There are many organizations that show support in different ways and we wanted a genuine way to show our affections along with other patriots. As a cross between various adopt-a-soldier and adopt-a-highway programs, Adopt a Memorial was born.

When you participate in Adopt a Memorial, you are making a pledge to honor and look after the memorial; the memorial can be tribute to any military person, event, in memorial of a conflict that took place in a specific location, a historical building, or any other thing similar.  Different ways to pay tribute would be researching the subject of the memorial, taking pictures, clearing debris for graves or smaller monuments, planting flowers or hanging wreathes, flying flags or replacing older worn out ones, and other such ideas.  Tell others about your memorial, and if you pick a person, they may have family who might like to know you picked their relatives memorial to adopt. Frequent the memorial, they are important and are significant, make sure that it doesn't get vandalized or if it does, report it to the authorities and newspapers. Make your memorial special and be sure to post your reports on our website forums, so you can tell others and get unique ideas for honoring your memorial.

The commitment to adopting a memorial is voluntary and up to you. We encourage you have fun with your adoption and to adopt as many as you chose. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper and let them know what you are doing, which may encourage others in your area to participate. Always be respectful of the local laws or statutes regarding different decorations if it is what you wanted to do, so pick a memorial that would best fit how involved you plan to be.

Remember to post your Adoption updates in our forums, to keep the memorial of your choice alive. If you pick a person, tell us about them. If you pick a historical building, what makes it special? Share pictures, and remember to have fun!

F.L.A.G looks forward to hearing about your reports with Adopt a Memorial and we sincerely appreciate and thank you for your support.
